Garry Turkie obtains membership of the Professional Negligence Lawyers’ Association

Garry Turkie, Dispute Resolution Consultant for McAllister Olivarius, has become a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers’ Association.  The Association, formed in 2004, provides resources for both claimants and professionals involved in negligence claims. The PNLA holds a certified database of lawyers specialising in this field and provides a network for the exchange of information amongst its members, as well as education and training in the professional negligence arena.

Garry has had experience with professional negligence claims for over two decades, and has represented institutional lenders in claims of substantial value and complexity.  He has also secured compensation for private individuals who have suffered loss at the hands of their professional advisers. Recent successful cases include a claim against a firm of solicitors for poor advice in a commercial transaction, a claim against Barclays bank for mis-selling a financial product and a claim against a conveyancing firm arising out of a property transaction.

Garry Turkie says: “Claims against professionals, such as lawyers or financial advisers, are multiplying as standards of competence fall under increasing regulation and scrutiny. Membership of the PNLA ensures we are at the forefront of this developing specialist area of law, for our clients’ benefit.”
