Dr Olivarius quoted in Quartz article about naming abusers online

Dr Olivarius spoke with Quartz about the increasing trend of women naming their abusers and harassers on social media. She suggested that women may be making online accusations simply because other methods (namely criminal and/or civil law) have failed them.

She told Quartz, "There’s very little cultural support for women who claim that they have been sexually assaulted,” she says. “When you see that Bill Cosby had 53 women who accused him before someone said, ‘This probably happened,’ there’s an impossibly high standard.”
