Ann Olivarius, our Senior Partner, was interviewed this week in the Sunday Times about sexual harassment cases reaching ‘epidemic’ levels at Oxford University. Olivarius is calling for a more American-style approach at UK universities, under which sexual relations between staff and students would be banned. Our firm is representing a student who has recently filed a complaint for sexual harassment against a male professor at Oxford. The university strongly rejected allegations via The Independent that it is facing an epidemic of sexual harassment, stating that they strongly advise staff to refrain from sexual relations with students, whilst also remaining vigilant to incidents of harassment. Our firm has been contacted by five other women from Oxford with similar complaints of sexual harassment. The story has also received coverage in The Oxford Times and The Sun.
